Amigos Wellness Club was built to change that. We are not a group home, a nursing facility, or a clinical program. We are a private residential community — a real home — designed specifically for independent neurodivergent adults who are ready to live their own life, surrounded by people who understand them and staff who show up for them every single day.

Amigos Wellness Club is built around daily structure, genuine community, and the kind of consistent support that allows independent adults to actually thrive — not just exist. Private bedrooms. Shared meals. Activities. Staff who know your person by name, not by case number.
This is private-pay housing — which means we answer to our residents and their families, not to a funding agency or a checklist.
We do not provide medical services, nursing care, medication administration, or personal care assistance. Residents manage their own healthcare needs.

Does my loved one need to be on a Medicaid waiver or HCS to live here?
No. Amigos Wellness Club is 100% private pay. No waiver required, no HCS enrollment needed, no government waitlist to navigate. If it's a fit for your person, you can move forward — without waiting years for a program slot to open up.
What's the difference between Amigos and an HCS group home?
HCS group homes are government-funded and operate under strict Medicaid rules that cap staffing levels, limit amenities, and restrict flexibility. Amigos is private pay — which means we set our own standards. We answer to our residents and their families, not to a funding agency or a government checklist.
Can my loved one keep their current day program, job, or service coordinator?
Absolutely. We provide transportation to and from existing day programs, jobs, appointments, and community activities. Moving to Amigos doesn't mean giving anything up — it means having a real home base to come back to every day.
What if my loved one eventually needs more support than you can provide?
We'll tell you honestly — before they move in. Amigos is designed for adults who can manage their own personal care, medications, and emergency response. If that changes over time, we work with families on a thoughtful transition plan so no one is left without options.
Is there a waiting list?
We are currently accepting inquiries ahead of our San Antonio opening. Spaces are limited, and we give priority to families who reach out early. Filling out the contact form below is the best first step.
Is this a permanent home, or a transitional placement?
This is a permanent home. We are not a transitional program, a short-term placement, or a step-down facility. We built Amigos because adults with IDD deserve a place where they can plant roots, build real friendships, and live a full life — for the long haul. That's the whole point.
Is Amigos the Right Fit?
Our community is designed for neurodivergent adults who are capable of — and ready for — independent living in a supported environment. Here's who thrives here:
- Adults (18+) with a documented Intellectual and/or Developmental Disability (IDD)
- Living independently — not under legal guardianship
- Able to manage their own personal care and hygiene
- Able to self-administer their own medications
- Able to recognize and respond to emergencies
- Engaged in work, vocational training, volunteering, or day programs
- Ready to live in community — and looking for people who truly get them

Oversee day-to-day operations — from daily routines and resident culture to staff coordination and house standards. The House Manager is the heartbeat of the community. You lead with consistency, care, and a high standard for what "home" should feel like.
